An unhinged man was allegedly trying to break into a moving car in The Bronx on Monday night when he was stopped in his tracks by a group of witnesses who delivered him a beating.

The unidentified shirtless man was spotted by a Post reporter trying to open the driver-side door of a black Honda Civic while repeatedly whacking the car with a metal spatula at the intersection of East 149th Street and Brook Avenue at about 5:45 p.m.

The woman driving the car could be heard screaming at the top of her lungs before three men initially came to her aid, chasing the maniac away.

“I don’t know him. I was driving and I don’t know him. He was trying to get in,” the woman later told The Post while sobbing.

Police said multiple 911 calls were made reporting the mayhem.

Soon after the trio of witnesses ran over, others joined in to help subdue the crazed man.
