An argument between relatives around 7:40pm on Sunday ended with two people nursing gunshot wounds.
The victims have been identified as a 68-year-old man, who is a holder of a registered firearm, and a 37-year-old woman, both of Pipiol Road, Upper Santa Cruz. The third person involved is a 38-year-old man of the said address.
A statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the two men got into a heated argument over a locked door at the house.
They started fighting and the woman attempted to separate them.
An explosion was subsequently heard. The older man and the woman noticed they were both shot to one thigh each.
They were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) and Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) where they were medically examined.
The man remains in a stable condition while the lady was discharged.
Officers attached to the Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to the incident and conducted enquiries. One glock pistol, one glock magazine, seven rounds of .9mm ammunition and one spent shell were handed over.
