Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) James Forbes, who had his more than a six-year-old criminal conviction for corruption set aside by the Court of Appeal in February, returned to his job in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on Wednesday and has confirmed Loop News’ reports that his stint back in the force will be a very short one.
In fact, Forbes, in an interview with our news centre, disclosed that he would be spending only the day on the job, as he would immediately be going on vacation and other leave and this would take him up to November 25, which is his 60th birthday, at which point he will retire from the force.
“I will be going off on departmental leave on Thursday, and that will be followed by a vacation leave that will take me up to November 25th, my (60th) birthday when I go off on retirement,” Forbes told Loop News in the interview.
The senior officer was reinstated in the JCF following a decision of the Police Service Commission.
