The appeal that Minister Riad Nurmohamed of Public Works (OW) has made to companies has yielded positive results. The minister had asked the business community to lend a hand in the work that the ministry has to carry out. Various companies have made donations to the department in various ways in recent weeks.

This includes asphalt for roads and a special contribution for solving the drainage problem, including in the districts of Paramaribo, Wanica and Commewijne. Some companies and private entrepreneurs have pledged support in the form of equipment, finance and the necessary skills to enable the ministry to carry out urgent work immediately.

The minister is very pleased with this action and is very grateful to the business community for its contribution. He also put a heart to the entrepreneurs, who support them despite the difficult times. He asked them to continue with these kinds of initiatives in the interest of the country and the people.
