The Public Prosecutor (OM) has demanded twelve years against ex-governor Robert van Trikt during the session of the criminal proceedings regarding the alleged financial malpractice at the Central Bank of Suriname (CBvS), with deduction of the time in pre-trial detention. The Public Prosecution Service also demands immediate detention and a fine of SRD 500,000, alternatively eighteen months in custody.
Against his business partner Ashween Angnoe, the Public Prosecution Service has demanded five years and deduction of time in pre-trial detention. The Public Prosecution Service also demands immediate imprisonment of Angnoe and a fine of SRD 150,000, alternatively twelve months in custody.
The case will be continued on July 29, with the defendants’ lawyers responding.
