The man, who was shot after he reportedly engaged members of a joint police/ military team in a shootout in St Catherine has succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Jordan Graham, resident of Central Village.

Reports are that at about 6 am, members of a joint police/military team were in the  Mansfield Avenue section of the parish carrying out an operation when they came under gunfire.

Police sources said a shootout ensued and one of the men, who law enforcement officers said carried out the attack, was shot and injured while the other escaped.

Two soldiers were also injured during the exchange between the gunmen. One firearm was also recovered.
