Trinidad & Tobago: 20-year-old coconut vendor shot dead in Valencia

A 20-year-old man was gunned down in Valencia yesterday.  

Cardel Charles age, 20, of Carib Circular, KP Lands, Valencia, was said to be conducting sales at his coconut stall with other relatives when at about 1pm, a man pretending to be a customer called out to him at the front of the said stall.  

The victim then came out to attend to the said man at the front of his stall when, the man pulled out a firearm, pointed it at him and several explosions were heard.  

The victim fell to the ground suffering from what appeared to be apparent gunshot wounds to his head and hand.  

He was subsequently assisted by his wife and cousin and taken to the Valencia Health Center. 

However, he was soon pronounced dead. 

The scene was visited by Snr Supt Chandool, ASP Revanales, W/Ag Insp Sylvester, Sgt Leon, Sgt Scipio and a party of officers attached to the Valencia Police Post, personnel attached to SIU and a party of officers of the Homicide Bureau.
