For the second time within the space of a week, defending world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica lines up against world leader Sha’Carri Richardson of the USA over 100m.
They will face off at the second Wanda Diamond League meeting in Doha on Friday.
Their previous outing, at the Diamond League opener in Gateshead on Sunday, was held in heavy rain and run into a strong headwind with Richardson clocking 11.44 (-3.1m/s) for second place and Fraser-Pryce, finishing fourth, a few hundredths behind in 11.51.
Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith won in a time of 11.35 seconds.
Conditions in Doha will be far more conducive to fast times. Fraser-Pryce owns the Qatari all-comers’ mark with the 10.71 she recorded to win the 2019 world title. Richardson, meanwhile, holds the world-leading mark at 10.72 and looks primed to go even faster.
