Trinidad & Tobago: Imbert: 2,850 have applied for Salary Relief Grants so far

Finance Minister Colm Imbert said almost 3,000 people have already submitted applications for the Salary Relief Grant, with almost 12,000 other applications still in progress.

Speaking at a media briefing today, Imbert said to date, since the launch of the portal on the Finance Ministry’s website three days ago, 2,850 applications have been completed and submitted online for the Salary Relief Grant.

He said almost 12,000 other applications are in progress with over 14,000 registered accounts on the site.

He said the majority of applicants are in the food, restaurant and/or service sector with 6,538 out of the 14,000 registered accounts. The second largest group is from the retail sector with 4,820 applicants.

He said there have been 72,400 users visiting the website since the application portal was launched, with an average of 1,000 site visits per hour.

Regarding applications for the Salary Relief Grant made last year, Imbert said out of 93,000 applicants, 86,196 have received payments with 7,000 applicants still to be paid.
