Trinidad & Tobago: CoP recognises threat to destabilise T&T, calls for info from public

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, says he has observed an increase in voice notes, anonymous videos and social media posts by individuals using pseudonyms.

Speaking via a press release on Monday, the top cop has noted that this content appears to incite and encourage the public to protest, riot and rise up against the police and state institutions.

Such conduct, the CoP says, is designed and geared toward instability, panic and efforts to de-stabilise the nation’s democracy.

The statement continued: “The Commissioner notes that such conduct ought not to go unabated and he is calling on the public to assist in identifying who these individuals and/or groups are, in an effort to bring these persons to justice.”
