President Chan Santokhi calls the Suriname Competitiveness and Sector Diversification Project (SCSD project) a milestone for Suriname. This is what the president said today in the Congress Hall during the launch of this project. The launch was organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation (EZ).
In her speech, Minister of Economic Affairs Saskia Walden discussed the impact of the project: “The main goals of the project are to improve the competitiveness of Suriname and increase earning capacity by diversifying the economy. Part of the money is reserved especially for female entrepreneurs. Women take the opportunity there to further develop your business idea ”.
Minister David Abiamofo of Natural Resources (NH) placed the importance of this project against the background of the still to be set up Mineral Institute. According to him, a strong legal and institutional framework is indispensable in this regard. The SCSD project will improve the development of the minerals sector, especially as the aim is to also support entrepreneurs in this sector.
