Jamaica: Unease among cops over alleged vaccine ultimatum for promotion

There is growing disquiet among some members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), this after some rank and file members were allegedly notified that they will be replaced in a promotional training programme if they are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

The promotional programme vacancies left behind by unvaccinated police officers would be filled by their colleagues who have been inoculated against the respiratory illness, according to information circulating on social media.

When contacted for a comment on the matter, head of the Jamaica Police Federation, Corporal Rohan James, said he would be commenting on the matter later on Tuesday after he had received vital information on the issue.

But it is understood that the federation is in the process of arranging a meeting with Police Commissioner, Major Antony Anderson, to discuss the issues and concerns of police officers related to the issue of vaccination.
