Jamaica: Best Dressed Chicken eliminates antibiotics from production

Jamaica Broilers Group has announced that it has eliminated antibiotics in its production of the Best Dressed Chicken.

The company’s supply chain — including feed mill, hatcheries and more than 60 contract farmers — are fully on board and committed to the antibiotic-free mandate.

“Our poultry products have long been hormone-free, but in the face of growing evidence that the overuse of antibiotics in food-producing animals can lead to antibiotic-resistant diseases, we have decided to change our approach in the interest of our people,” said Christopher Levy, President and CEO of Jamaica Broilers Group.  “We are always going to do what is right from the farm to the fork and so consumers can be confident that the quality and taste of our products will be at their best.”
