Trinidad & Tobago: Cops find guns, 1,000 rounds of ammo labelled ‘household appliances’

Police said a number of guns and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found and seized from a storage container labelled as household appliances.

According to police reports, the find took place at a warehouse in Couva yesterday morning.

The find was made by officers of the Special Investigations Unit, the Central Gang Intelligence Unit, along with Customs and Excise Division officers.

Loop News was told that officers received intelligence which led them to a warehouse along the Southern Main Road where they had cause to search a cargo which was marked as transporting household appliances.

Officers said on April 7 the signee arrived to claim the container and identified himself. However, before the cargo was brought out for examination prior to delivery, he left the warehouse without explanation and didn’t return.
