Trinidad & Tobago: Penal man electrocuted

A Penal father of two is dead after being electrocuted while performing a Hindu ritual.

Police reported that around 3 pm on Wednesday, 57-year-old taxi driver Premnath Ramlogan was cutting bamboo near SS Erin Road, Penal.

But while he was trying to carry the piece of bamboo back to his Charlo Village home, it accidentally touched a high-tension electricity line and electrocuted him.

He was planning to plant a jhandi in observance of the Hindu festival Chaitra Navratri, which began last Tuesday and ends on Thursday.
