Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett is targeting a total of 30,000 tourism workers to be inoculated over the ongoing five-day Government’s COVID-19 vaccination blitz which is scheduled to end on Tuesday.
“My ambition is to have just about 30,000 tourism workers done over the five days; that is my ambition,” said Bartlett.
He was speaking at the Montego Bay Convention Centre during the vaccination blitz in St James on Saturday.
He noted that as a result of up to 75 per cent weekend occupancy at some hotels, several ground transportation operators were understandably absent from Saturday’s exercise.
He was, however, hopeful that transportation operators would be inoculated between Sunday and Tuesday.
