Trinidad & Tobago: Businessman granted $50K bail for indecent assault against boy, 17

A Princes Town businessman has been charged with one count of indecent assault following an incident with a 17-year-old boy.

The accused, 58, was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 with a surety after appearing before Princes Town Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine on Friday. He must also remain 500 metres away from the victim and must have absolutely no contact, direct or indirectly with the teen.

The charges were laid after a report was made on December 11, 2020 to the Princes Town Police Station.

The report alleges that the teen went into a store in Princes Town to purchase items.

At the shop, he met the proprietor who took him to a room upstairs the store and allegedly squeezed his genitals.
