Suriname: National Coordination Team holds vaccination day at Wanica Regional Hospital

The National Coordination Team COVID-19 vaccination is organizing a large vaccination day at the Wanica Regional Hospital (RZW) on behalf of the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the business community, a national team of nurses, doctors and volunteers from various institutions. This vaccination day will be held on March 27.

The Ministry’s intention is to make vaccination more accessible to the various target groups with major vaccination events. The groups currently being vaccinated are:
– All over 60s
– All 40 to 60 year olds with underlying conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes mellitus (diabetes), obesity, sickle cell disease and high blood pressure.
– All dialysis patients
– People living in retirement homes
– All care workers

According to the Ministry of Health, individuals belonging to these target groups can register online at or by calling 178. Vaccinations will take place between 8 AM and 4 PM and shuttle buses will be available, reports the Ministry of Health.
