General Secretary of the People’s National Party (PNP) Dr Dayton Campbell is now fighting to clear his name as allegations of sexual misconduct against him, which first surfaced on social media, are now being investigated by the police.
Attorneys for Campbell, who is both a medical doctor and lawyer by training, have also gone on the offensive against his accusers and the PNP has indicated that it has not bothered to launch a probe as the allegations have not been substantiated.
However, the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, CISOCA, has indicated that it has commenced an investigation into the matter. Head of the Unit, Senior Superintendent of Police, Charmine Shand, said on Nationwide Radio on Wednesday that the allegations were serious. She made an appeal for persons with information to come forward.
Campbell’s lawyers, of the law firm Henlin, Gibson and Henlin are pushing back hard.
