Police are investigating a report in which eight people were tied up and robbed at gunpoint in a home invasion on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place at about 3pm along Third Street, Barataria.
The group were said to be at the home when the armed suspects entered and announced a hold-up.
They then tied up three of the victims, aged 46, 33, 28, and left them in a room that was guarded by one of the armed suspects.
The other two men then made their way upstairs where they confronted the other five victims – four of whom were over 58.
The suspects accosted three of the victims – a 69-year-old woman, as well as two men aged 62 and 58 – before robbing the house of a quantity of cash, electronic devices and jewellery.
The total estimated value of all the items stolen is said to be over $400,000.
