Former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide said Sunday that Haiti needs to transform the neocolonial system the country is in during a graduation speech at the Aristide Foundation University in Tabarre, Port-au-Prince.
“They devoured all the mice. And that happened in front of the cats’ eyes, so follow their eyes,” Aristide said. “How to prevent the worst? You absolutely have to pass from the lock-in syndrome to a transformation of the neocolonialism system.”
“Zeroes love dictatorships. Heroes prefer democracy,” Aristide added.
He also said that Haiti is experiencing “coloniavirus” not coronavirus.
