Trinidad & Tobago: Man beaten, chopped by childhood friend

A 36-year-old man is warded in a serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital nursing chop wounds to his face.

The victim told police that around 9pm on Sunday, he was liming at a bar near Esmeralda Junction, Williamsville, when he got into an argument with a childhood friend.

The argument became physical, and the two men engaged in a scuffle.

The suspect then retrieved a cutlass from his vehicle and dealt the victim a blow to his face and body.

He then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.

The victim suffered a 9cm laceration to his face, as well as several fractures.

The police were notified and were given a description of the suspect.
