The Council of Trade Union Centers in Suriname (Ravaksur) will look at the tax brackets and issues of income distribution together with the director of the Tax Authorities. When that is done, Ravaksur and the government may meet again on March 6 to further deepen the income issue, spokesman Armand Zunder said. This is one of the agreements made with President Chan Santokhi.
A government delegation led by the head of state and his experts discussed the Crisis and Recovery Plan together with Ravaksur on 22 February. In particular, it concerned Ravaksur’s commentary on this document. The government and its experts have discussed this in detail and the parties have reached a number of agreements.
Zunder speaks of an extensive meeting with the head of state, the Ministers Armand Achaibersing of Finance and Planning and Albert Ramdin of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation (BIBIS) and a team of experts. The parties have reached a number of agreements, partly due to the fact that the points of concern of the discussion partner have also been very clearly included in the decision-making.
