A male relative of 16-year-old Tamika Griffith has been released from custody.
However, investigators told Loop News that they reserve the right to re-arrest the suspect pending the course of the investigation.
The suspect, who is also 16, was released earlier this week. He had been in custody since the incident.
Griffith, a form four student of Corial Road, Iere Village, Princes Town, was found nursing a gunshot wound to her head at a relative’s apartment on February 9.
Police were told the teenager, along with a male cousin, were at the home when the 16-year-old boy pulled out a firearm to show her.
The weapon, Loop News was told, was brought to the house by another relative for ‘safekeeping’.
