The Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday that it’s too late in President Jovenel Moïse’s term to start a dictatorship, as some have alleged.
“He’s in his fourth year in power, he was not a dictator, why in his fifth year would he start a dictatorial career?” said Claude Joseph in a France24 interview. “That’s absurd, it’s not true at all.”
Joseph also said that officials have the political crisis “under control.” However, hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets of Port-au-Prince to continue demanding that Moïse leave office. Source
