Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says that the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) must attempt to solve its own problems before the government gets involved.
As the THA remains in a six-seat deadlock, Dr Rowley said he’s hoping they find a way to sort the issue out on their own, since there isn’t much that the Prime Minister or the President can do at this juncture.
“I trust that very soon, all the parties in Tobago will realise what has to be done, find a way to get it done and we fix whatever problem they have in Tobago. If the Parliament is required, the government stands ready to approach the Parliament to fix whatever problem the Tobago House of Assembly has,” he said.
If nothing happens, the government’s next move will be to bring the THA Act back to the parliament to make amendments which would solve the issue.
