Trinidad & Tobago: Pensioner beaten, hogtied and robbed

Despite pleas for her to be spared, a 72-year-old woman was beaten to the head, hog tied, and robbed, during a home invasion in Princes Town.

The victim, who is a medical trainer, told police that around 8:45pm on Tuesday, she was at her home in Borde Narve, Princes Town watching TV, when she was alerted to the sounds of her dogs barking.

She went to her front door to check on the disturbance and was accosted by four men.

One of the men assaulted the woman, hitting her to the front and back of her head, while another tied her hands, feet, and mouth using tie straps.

The suspects then relieved the woman of her cellphone, $500 in cash, and her silver Toyota Aqua.
