A confrontation between a police constable and a Lance Corporal attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force this morning has left one of the men dead.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Lance Cpl Keverne Miller. He was last attached to the La Romaine Camo.
The incident occurred at about 3am at a house on Reservoir Hill, Point Fortin.
Loop News was told there was a gathering at the house when the police constable observed an unknown man wearing a helmet and brandishing a firearm.
The constable told investigators that he observed people nearby fleeing from the armed man. He allegedly called on the man to surrender and there was a heated exchange.
It was alleged that Miller pointed his weapon at the officer.
