“What happened there is very sad. The district commissioners have promised to have guards. I understand from the district commissioner that the money has been stolen and he discovered it last Wednesday. We have done our part. The money for the election personnel had been transferred and for the rest the mayor himself must tell what happened ”, says Minister Bronto Somohardjo of the Interior (Biza) in conversation with Suriname Herald.
The money that was transferred to the Paramaribo-Northeast district commissioner’s office was stolen by burglars from the safe at the Paramaribo-Northeast commissioner’s office.
Somohardjo also states that the money has been transferred to the various supervisory directorships, because it is clearly indicated by the DCs that they have security and guards. The supervisory directorships that do not have security have asked except Northeast, says the minister.
