A young doctor and her friend were kidnapped in Port-au-Prince on Sunday, prompting medical students to react in protest against the crime wave.
The medical students demanded that Dr. Laure Marie Daniel and her friend Grégory Manian to be released without ransom.
“We therefore call for the mobilization and solidarity of all to demand the unconditional release… as soon as possible,” the protesting medical students wrote in a public note.
Dr. Hans Thelemaque was kidnapped for two days in late November. Scores of medical students also took to the streets then to successfully demand his release.
