Gonaïves’s mayor scolded the Jovenel Moïse administration for not celebrating Independence Day in Gonaïves, Haiti’s City of Independence.
Moïse has been addressing the country from Port-au-Prince on Independence Day for the past two years because of political turmoil.
“[It’s] as if the city of Gonaïves is insignificant to them,” Donald Diogène said. “As if independence has no value in their eyes. The city of Gonaïves does not deserve this treatment. Central power authorities, you are all guilty.”
