Police said CCTV footage from businesses near the RBC Royal Bank in Maraval are expected to be reviewed today by investigators, as they try to narrow down when bandits would have stolen an estimated $1.3million from the ATM machine along Saddle Road.
The discovery was made yesterday morning by one of the bank’s managers who responded to a report of unusual activity.
When the official arrived around 9am, it was observed that the two ATM machines had been cut open and cash trays were on the floor.
The police were immediately notified, and officers from the St Clair police station responded.
A team of officers including PC Dhuram, PC Samaroo, PC Deny, WPC Parks, and WPC Pierra, responded.
It was observed that entry was gained by cutting a hole on the western side of the building.
