“I have a ‘we’ approach, I am going to work with everyone, because everyone has ideas and we are going to see how we can get the best out of it.” This is what Stanley Betterson said, who is the new general director at the Foundation for Forest Management and Forest Supervision (SBB) as of today. He takes over from Marlon Veira.
The transfer protocol has been signed and the accompanying documents have been confirmed in the presence of Minister Diana Pokie of Land Policy and Forest Management and the foundation board. The keys to the office were handed over to Meredith Vitolie, chairman of the foundation board.
Chairman of the board Vitolie pointed out to the new director that he is taking office at a time of great challenges, not only for the forestry sector, but also for the government. “While the call from contractors for certainty of existence is getting louder, the government is forced to take measures. Measures that should not only guarantee more income from this sector, but also ensure sustainable forest management. An enormous challenge lies ahead of you. ”
