Lennox Petroleum workers are planning to picket the company’s office in San Fernando on Christmas morning.
The workers have been protesting over the last few weeks demanding their outstanding backpay.
The Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) advised of the planned protest in a statement on Thursday.
It said: “Facing an extremely bleak Christmas morning because of the Company’s refusal to comply with a lawful court judgement, the frustrated former workers of Lennox Petroleum will be continuing their protest action in front of the company office at Princess Margaret Street, San Fernando, tomorrow (Christmas Day) morning from 10am.”
It added: “While Christmas is a time for showing love, looking out for one another and celebrating with family and friends, this unfortunately is not the case for the former Lennox Petroleum workers. Because of Lennox Petroleum’s management blatant disregard for the judicial system in Trinidad and Tobago, the workers and their families, primarily their children have nothing to celebrate this time of the year.”
