Five young men were killed in a “catastrophic” two-car crash that split one of the vehicles completely in half Tuesday night in Yonkers, according to new reports.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Riverdale Avenue near Culver Street when a motorist traveling at “an extreme rate of speed” crashed into another car with four men inside, authorities told NBC New York.
The four men were pronounced dead on scene, and the driver of the other car was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died, the outlet reported.
Authorities called the crash “catastrophic,” according to the Journal News.
Several other people were hospitalized, though the extent of their injuries was unclear, according to ABC 7.
