According to Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay, the two men were among others allegedly on their way to Greenvale in Mandeville, Manchester at about 2:30 pm to shoot persons at a location.
Sources indicated that the assailants were believed to have been intent on murdering a particular individual.
Lindsay said the police received information about the shooting mission and responded quickly, resulting in the interception of the men along Winston Jones Highway near Greenvale.
The men reportedly engaged the police team and during a gun battle, one individual – identified by sources as Andrew Anthony Chambers of Farm district in Spur Tree, Manchester – was shot and killed by the law enforcers.
