The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has expressed concern after three road traffic deaths were recorded in a six-hour period across the country on Monday.
Around 2pm 33-year-old driver, Ravesh Jhinkoo, died from fatal injuries he sustained when he lost control of his SUV along the Toco Main Road and crashed into a concrete drain and embankment on the left side of the roadway.
Less than two hours later, at around 3:30pm, 37-year-old pedestrian Satesh Ramkisson, a fireman, died at the Sangre Grande Hospital having succumbed to injuries received after being struck by a truck at the side of the road along the Naparima Mayaro Road, Bristol Village.
Then later at around 7:30pm, Highway Patrol officers responded to a road traffic accident involving a male pedestrian who was fatally struck by the driver of a silver B-14 whilst attempting to cross the eastbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of Kash Bar.
