Trinidad & Tobago: Driver charged for Ashanti’s murder, sexual offences against minor

A San Juan man is expected to appear virtually before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged for the murder of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley.

Ashanti of Sunshine Avenue, San Juan was killed sometime between November 29 and December 4.

An autopsy revealed she died from ‘sharp force injuries’ to the right side of her chest and lower abdomen.

She also suffered blunt force trauma to the left side of her back. 

Luciano Quash, also known as ‘Brian’, 33, a self-employed PH taxi driver of Bagatelle Road was charged with the offence, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC on Thursday.

Ashanti’s body was found at Cake Lands, Santa Cruz on December 4.
