Trinidad & Tobago: Bandits make off with $30K from Lotto booth

Western Division police are searching for a man who robbed and assaulted a 23-year-old Lotto booth operator.

The incident allegedly took place around 12:30pm on Friday.

The victim told police he was working at the lotto booth located along Bagatelle Road, Diego Martin, when he observed three men standing in line waiting to cash.

After the other two men left, the suspect approached the victim, pushed a black handgun through the burglar proof unlocked the gate and told the victim, ”don’t make a scene and open the gate”.

The victim complied.  

The suspect entered the room, where he removed the cash register amounting to $8,607, and he also removed $25,000 from a safe to the back of the said room.  

The suspect then made his escape on foot.  

The victim immediately notified the police.
