A Queens man was sentenced Wednesday to 21 years in prison for the broad-daylight slaying of his daughter-in-law on a city street, officials said.
Dahe Lin, 77, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree manslaughter for plunging a kitchen knife into the neck of Wen Ying He, 50, during an argument March 28, 2019.
“This defendant viciously attacked the wife of his son and murdered her on a public street in plain view of witnesses,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz in a statement. “This was an unimaginably horrific crime.”
The deadly assault unfolded at about 8:30 a.m. on Suydam Street in Ridgewood outside the home that Lin and He shared. A bystander spotted Lin strangling He and pulled him off of her, according to the Queens DA.
