Even the New York State government has a Black Friday deal.
Dozens of pricey Nike Air Jordans and LeBron James sneakers seized by cops during a 2017 Long Island drug bust will go up for auction starting Wednesday, New York’s Office of General Services announced.
Nearly 200 pairs of sneakers and 14 pieces of sports memorabilia — including two Upper Deck-authenticated Michael Jordan jerseys from the Bulls and the University of North Carolina — will be available on the Empire State’s eBay page in the coming weeks.
A pair of Air Jordans that went online at 3 p.m. Wednesday had already racked up 10 bids in less than an hour.
The collectibles were seized during a November 2017 raid where Richard and Joann Figueroa, of Selden, were found with over a kilo of coke, over 70 grams of crack, more than 300 grams of pot and “numerous Xanax and Oxycodone pills,” a news release from the time states.
Cops confiscated the sneakerheads’ collection of shoes and sports gear along with more than $60,000 in cash and multiple vehicles, cops said previously.
