Minister Bronto Somohardjo of the Interior (Biza), says in conversation with Suriname Herald that officials with a decision and who have signed the attendance lists in the past six months, will be paid in December. Department heads of the various departments must identify the officials with a decision.
“The first group will be mapped before the end of this month and then again the following month, so that we can pay out in phases. This means that you do not suddenly put too much pressure on government spending, ”says Somohardjo.
It is important that people have a disposition and are hired on the right terms. In addition, the work they have performed must be demonstrable. Inquiries will also be made with the head of the relevant department to find out who is on the payroll.
The minister does not know exactly how large this group of officials is, but the departments have until the end of November to check whether all matters are in order before the people are placed on the roll. I want to prevent us from putting too many and unfairly on the roll, which puts too much pressure on government spending, ”says Somohardjo.
