Trinidad & Tobago: PNM women’s group calls for investigation on doctor, racist recording

The National Women’s League of the People’s National Movement says it condemns verbal abuse and racist comments allegedly made against a female worker and involving an alleged medical doctor, and is calling for an investigation into the matter.

In a statement, the group said it noted ‘with grave concern’, an audio recording circulating via Whatsapp and other social media platforms in which an alleged medical doctor made comments to a member of his staff regarding a relative attached to the protective services.

The group said:

‘The alleged audio recording raises issues of abuse of power, verbal abuse, the use of obscene language, racist attacks and threats of dismissal to a member of staff.’
