Trinidad & Tobago: Teenaged vendor being ‘run out’ by big businessman

A teenaged vendor, who is trying to sell produce to pay his way through school, is claiming victimisation.

The vendor, who typically operates along Perseverance Road, Chaguanas, claimed that he is being run out of the community by a ‘larger businessman’.

The vendor has reportedly made complaints to the police that he is being forced out of the roadway by another man who wants to operate in the area by himself.

The other vendor, police were told, has structures which extend onto the roadway, yet the teenager claimed that he was being bullied for obeying the law, in an attempt to force him out of the community.
