Suriname: Pay out salaries next month without borrowing

The government will pay salaries in the coming months without borrowing money. Because the government has pursued a prudent financial policy, it was already clear that wages were paid in September without borrowing money. This has also been the case this month, President Chan Santokhi said at a news conference last night.

The good policy will be continued, whereby it will be clear that the salaries of the coming months will also be paid without loans. The head of state stressed that there is now no corruption in the expenditure of state resources. This has partly resulted in wages being guaranteed.

In addition to salaries, this also applies to the AOV funds and the financial assistance to the groups that claim them. This has been very problematic for the past three years. That this is now possible is part of the reforms within the economy.
