Bahamas: Harnessing the gift of food: BAMSI donates produce to Ranfurly Home

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI) donated produce from its farm in North Andros to the Ranfurly Home for Children.

The donation included cases of sweet potatoes, eggplant, pumpkin, and papaya.

October 16 was recognized as the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FOA) World Food Day under the theme “Grow, Nourish, Sustain, Together”.

BAMSI joined the global community in celebrating the day.

The organization‘s commitment is aligned with the FOA’s efforts to promote awareness about those who suffer from hunger; ensure healthy diets for every community, and to give back to the community.
