Minister Prahlad Sewdien of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (LVV) is a great supporter of a collaboration platform between farmers from the Netherlands and Suriname, which should ultimately lead to partnerships between the companies.
This makes it easier for Surinamese entrepreneurs to enter the European market and Dutch companies will also visit the Caribbean market, creating a win-win situation.
The minister shared his point of view with the temporary chargé d’affaires of the Netherlands in Suriname, Henk van der Zwan, who recently visited him for an introduction. Van der Zwan was accompanied on this visit by Merit Bottse, who is responsible for economic affairs at the Dutch embassy.
Discussions included the arrival of an official mission from the Netherlands in the period 2 to 5 November. This mission will consist of representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Agriculture, Economic Affairs and Defense.
