Suriname: Three suspects arrested for aggravated theft

23-year-old Marchel K. alias ‘Koeli boi’, FA alias ‘Bami’ (17) and CL alias ‘Koko’ (17) were arrested by the police on October 15. The young men have been held in custody for aggravated theft, narcotics law violation, and firearms law violation. An injured party reported a burglary at his home to the Domburg police on 2 October. Money and jewelry have been stolen from the house.

The trio came into the picture after obtained and elaborated information. During his arrest, marijuana, digital scales and money were found and confiscated on Marchel K. He stated to the police that he is a drug dealer. Shells were found and seized on the suspected FA.

The three men were detained after consultation with the Public Prosecution Service. FA and CL are locked up in the Opa Doelie Transit Center because of their youth, the Public Relations Department of the police reports.
