VHP assembly member Mahinder Jogi disagrees with the appointment of first lady Mellisa Santokhi as general manager of the President’s Office. Jogi made this announcement this afternoon in the Bakana Boskopu program on Pipel FM .
Jogi says that if what the circular says about the appointment of the first lady as general manager of the President’s Office is true, he does not agree. The VHP assembly member says there are more people in this country who are knowledgeable and capable.
Jogi says that before the election, Chan Santokhi said we should save this country. Santokhi has also said he doesn’t need people who want to save themselves. If we have to put this nomination in the context of saving the country, then it is good, but if saving the country involves saving people, then it is not good, says Jogi.
Jogi does not think that objections from the VHP will lead to the reversal of the appointment of the first lady. He says this because he has been in the VHP for 35 years. According to Jogi, there is a lot of dissatisfaction within the VHP about the way in which people are appointed to Supervisory Boards, boards of companies and also ministries.
