Teachers of the OS Loka Loka primary school in the village of Loka Loka in Upper Marowijne, through Vice President Ronnie Brunswijk, are asking the government to raise awareness about vandalism and burglary in their homes. Yesterday they filed a petition about this at Brunswick, reports the Directorate of People’s Communication.
They call for the Vice President’s attention to ensure their safety in the village where they work. For some time now, these teachers have been victims of vandalism and / or burglaries in their homes, often enough during school hours.
The vice president said he understands their situation. He said that the situation of the teachers has already been discussed with the local captain. The Vice President promised to discuss this issue in the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers and in particular to bring it to the attention of the Minister of Education, Marie Levens.
